Jawaharlal Nehru University

The JNU has a Centre for Korean Studies (CKS) that provides B.A, M.A, and MPhil courses in the Korean Language. This centre is a big hub for the Korean language and culture in India. The selection process is an Entrance Exam, the details of which are updated on their website.

Key features :

  • The B.A course in the Korean language is a two-year course wherein the student masters basic speaking, Grammar, reading, and writing skills in Korean. A student has to earn 64 credits in the core course, 10 in the tool course, and 24 in the optional course.

  • M.A in the Korean language course is an enhanced version of B.A course. And, a student has to earn 64 credits to complete the course.

  • MPhil; in the Korean language course is a course that has four semesters of course work. Four courses with 4 credits are the condition to gaining an MPhil. On top of that, the student, if she/he has a CGPA of 6 can apply for the Ph.D.


Manipur University

 Manipur University is a central university that offers courses in multiple streams recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The state-of-art facility at the University helps in the holistic development of a student. The Manipur University offers two kinds of courses in the Korean language namely 

  • Integrated 5 year M.A course in the Korean Language and

  • B.A.(Hons) course in the Korean language
